I pulled together a quick primer for twitter over the weekend. It all came from a few tweets that I saw @TheRab make for some new comers that were following him. I figured that a Twitter Howto was due.

Not a bad how-to but I think some typical use cases for Twitter could be thrown in there too. A lot of people don’t “get” twitter when you just talk to them about it.

Thanks for this Twitter starter post. As I, and many others, have been blogging about Twitter usage lately, I realize that explanations need to be broken down into lots, and I mean lots, of smaller parts. A friend recently described Twitter as a culture, not a platform or a program, and that’s an apt description. People use Twitter in lots of different ways, and new users need to dive into the culture, learn all they can, and discover how Twitter can work for them.
